Every time I take this trip I hear the Beatle’s “Long and Winding Road” in my head…I feel like I’m slaloming on the highway of life, maybe in one of those sexy, expensive sports sedan commercials. It’s that sense of exhilaration, being surrounded by the incredible natural beauty of the cliffs and Delaware River below, that makes me look forward to this journey. If you’re in the NY/NJ area, take a drive up past Port Jervis on NY Rt. 97, to a stretch called the “Hawk’s Nest.” Perhaps even stop and spend the weekend at my favorite haunted mansion, Burn Brae, in Glen Spey…’tis the season.
